The truth hurts, evidently, but McCain senior adviser Nancy Pfotenhauer (who Mike and I literally yell whenever she’s on tv for her sheer stupidity and dumb haircut) shared the true divide between the counties of Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William and the rest of the state:
Eric Reif thinks Nancy’s calling us carpetbaggers from the District, but it’s not for nothing I tell people at school I’m from “Northern Virginia,” as opposed to “actual Virginia.” The demographics, socioeconomics, and regional associations are radically different between Nancy’s Oakton, Va. and Hampton Roads, Va. where Sarah Palin recently swung though (per my advice, of course).
But we are in the Obama bell jar up here in Fake Virginia. Watching games six and seven of the ALCS, Saturday Night Live, and the Redskins game today, I’ve seen — at the very least — 20-25 Obama spots, not one for McCain. My brother says it’s been Obama non-stop on tv. Ran through my neighborhood yesterday and today, the yard signs are about split 50-50, but the medians and sides of streets are covered with Obama-Warner signs.
