The K. u. K. Hofzuckerbäckerei Demel in Vienna is very well known. The elegant coffee house is worth a visit in itself. But what many people do not know: From the end of January to mid-November, the Demel Museum is open every Friday from 10 am to 12 pm. Two guides will then take you through the world of sugar in the basement of the café. Sissi and Emperor Franz Josef once had their delicacies delivered directly to the Hofburg from this sugar bakery.

Tips for parks for relaxation and excursions

I think all the guidebooks can't keep up with discovering - there's just so much happening in Vienna. I can hardly name one particular spot. One of my "all-time favourites" is The sky with the tree of life circle. More than 20 years ago, the Kuratorium Wald acquired large parts of this area. The Tree of Life Circle, the Café Restaurant Oktogon, a vineyard and the great nature playground for children are a great place in the green.

Also great is the fig farm - especially for lovers of the sweet fruit, like me.

Where is the best place to relax in Vienna?

I love walking along Vienna's Danube Canal (and maybe stopping at Tel Aviv Beach later). Or go for a morning run in the shady Prater Hauptallee. Or picnicking in the Burggarten. Playing with the slackline in the Augarten. Lying in the grass with friends at the Wotruba Church outside Vienna... There are plenty of places to chill in Vienna!

What's the best place to go out and party in Vienna?

The best places to party are the Prater Sauna, the Flex, the Electro Gönner or the Volksgarten Pavillon.
Before that, you absolutely have to enjoy a view over Vienna at Le Loft, the rooftop bar of the Hotel Sofitel- it's simply unbeatable! Attention, get there early, otherwise you won't get a seat. Reservations are not allowed there.

9. Where can I find the best bargains in Vienna?

Like the locals at the markets - Feschmarkt, Edelstoff Designmarkt, Beautyflohmarkt,... the pop-up markets are just shooting out of every corner. There's hardly a weekend without one. There are not only bargains to be had, but also designer pieces that are hard to find anywhere else.

Every morning when I stand on my green, plant-strewn balcony, look at my brightly coloured hammock, put my freshly ground coffee on my flowery 70s tablecloth, hear the birds chirping and the sun shining in my face. In the middle of the 6th district, in the middle of the city. Then I think to myself every time: Thank you for letting me be in Vienna!
